I've spent a lot of the last week working on the pages that will come after this interlude with Mapel and Sidra (which is about halfway through, by the way). It's hard not to share too much, but I'm excited about a couple of new pages I wrote-in just this week and how they reveal a little more about the characters while adding a more bustling pace to the story.
On this page, I went a little lighter on the shading than I often do and I like the result. With background shading, my instinct is usually to be as representational as possible. Instead, I thought it would help to hold back the detail on these mid-shot panels where the background is only showing the type of place where the characters are standing, and not the actual details of a location. It's something I'm feeling out!
